Challenge Briefing — Pick Your Domain

Reviewed by Human · Updated October 26, 2026

You already write prompts one at a time, from scratch, every single time you open a chat. That is the amateur move — and it is quietly costing you hours every week.

What Is a Domain Prompt System?

**Domain prompt system**: a reusable set of prompts built for the specific, recurring tasks of one professional domain. It has three parts. Core prompts handle your repeated single tasks. A prompt chain strings several prompts together so the output of one feeds the next. And a system prompt sets the standing rules — role, voice, constraints — that every task inherits, so you stop re-typing the same context. This is where role prompting graduates from a party trick to infrastructure: the role lives once, in the system prompt, and every core prompt borrows it. The reason this works is the same reason the whole arc worked — context is everything. A system captures your context once and spends it many times, instead of rebuilding it on every request.

A system spends your context many times. A one-off prompt rebuilds it every request.

Your turn

Pick your primary professional domain. Then list the five tasks you ask an AI (or wish you could ask an AI) to do most often. Frequency beats difficulty here — you want the boring, repeated stuff.

Reflect

Which of your five would break the most if you handed it to a junior colleague with no instructions? That's the one that most needs an explicit prompt.

🎯

'Complete' Means Covered, Not Exhaustive

'Complete' does not mean you've captured every prompt you could ever need. It means every task you actually repeat is covered by something reusable, and each piece produces consistent output without you rescuing it. A tight system that covers your real week beats a sprawling library of prompts you never open. Coverage and reliability — not volume.

You're closer than you think

Most people already own their prompt system — it's just scattered across old chats, half-finished docs, and memory. This challenge doesn't ask you to invent it. It asks you to collect it.
